About Florida's Strategic Plans
The Roadmap to Florida’s Future drives economic development policy-making throughout the state. Mandated by the Legislature, this five-year strategic plan for economic development provides a roadmap of key priorities to diversify Florida’s economy for global competitiveness. The Enterprise Florida Board of Directors has the responsibility to develop the Strategic Plan with annual updates for statewide economic development. The planning process provides an ongoing opportunity to identify key challenges, ensure stakeholder consensus, and formulate recommendations to the Governor and Legislature.
Strategic Planning Process
Initially defined in the 2004-2009 Roadmap, the strategic planning process was developed and modified in consultation with business, government, and economic development stakeholders at both statewide and regional levels. Every 3 years, a series of activities (e.g., regional forums) is conducted to bring broad stakeholder input to bear on the strategic planning process. Annual reports are then produced in subsequent years to provide updates on progress made in implementing strategic plan priorities.
