Florida businesses can reserve display space for ’10 Dubai boat show
Enterprise Florida to sponsor two exhibit pavilions at 5-day global showcase
of new recreational marine products
ORLANDO, FL (November 3, 2009) – Florida businesses can reserve display space to promote their products and services at the Dubai International Boat Show, one of the world’s top five marine tradeshows.
It will be held March 9-13, 2010 at Dubai’s International Marine Club.
Enterprise Florida will provide the space in two pavilions being organized to accommodate a business delegation from Florida. The reservation deadline is November 20, and companies interested should contact:
Julie Balzano
Director for Marine Industry Sector, Enterprise Florida
(305) 808-3660 orjbalzano@eflorida.com
The Florida pavilions will offer several options for space amount, with pricing and amenities based on each. Space is limited and will be sold on a first-come/first-served basis. Curbing the cost for businesses will be a subsidy from Enterprise Florida, the state’s official agent for the boat show.
The Dubai boat show can be described as a classic showcase of boats from both local and international builders featuring the latest innovations in marine equipment, supplies and services. For Florida businesses, it’s also a path for access to all the Gulf States, a region that is experiencing considerable growth in the recreational boating sector, as well as the United Arab Emirates, said Balzano, who is coordinating the Florida delegation and on-site pavilion logistics. “By joining us, Florida business representatives can meet face-to-face with the decision-makers in the region and begin to develop the relationships that can be key to their success,” Balzano added.
Last year, nearly 25,000 visitors from about 100 countries attended the show. It was Florida’s second time participating in an event focused specifically on the marine and recreational boating industry. Florida companies now are starting to see a return on their investment, with almost $12 million in Florida products sold already.
The UAE continues to grow in importance as one of Florida’s most important
export markets. Among the states in 2008, Florida was the lead exporter to the UAE for marine related products. Florida origin exports there more than doubled, with more than $21 million in yachts, motorboats, rafts, fishing equipment, engines, dock equipment and other related marine equipment shipped.
The region’s diversified market presents a wide offering of trade opportunities and noted for its accessibility; it’s served by more than 170 shipping lines and 86 airlines.
